Lisburn and the Great War (WWI) Research Project (formerly the Friends’ School Archive)
This site provides an up-to-date database of the men from Lisburn and district, defined here, who died during the First World War. It aims to commemorate those from the Lisburn area who served during the Great War, and is a continuation of, and builds on, the ‘Casualty List’ section of the former WW1 Archive on the Friends’ School Lisburn website. The latter relates specifically to those who died in the conflict; here the intention is to add more detail about those individuals and eventually include what can be found about others who served but survived.
This website is a joint initiative by Pat Geary, author of the original Friends’ School Archive website, and the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum.
